Ugh, what a weekend

Alright, so we went to the in-law's for the weekend. Most everything was great... they got to see Andy, Mike and I got a little bit of a break from Matthew (double date with Mike's sister and her bf... Andy came too, but slept most of the time). The only awful part of the weekend was Saturday night... Matthew woke up when an alarm clock accidentally went off... and didn't go back to sleep until 4:30 am! Andy decided he didn't want to sleep either... they both just wanted to scream at their mommy! At about 5 am I finally just laid Andy down in the play pen and went to sleep, Mike took over for a little bit until Andy finally settled. I think I must be crazy to have had kids! I know that there will be days and nights like that, but it was hard enough with ONE child screaming at you all night... let alone TWO! I don't know how you people with more do it... especially people with 5 or 6! Are girls any different? Probably not, huh? Anyway, probably needless to say, today was NOT the best of days for me. Thanks Mike for not asking me to drive home! I really should go to bed right away... now that everyone is asleep... but sometimes a mom just needs some time to be "sane". I can't wait until they sleep all night and I can have a break while they go to school during the day... even if I go back to work during that time... it's human interaction with someone a little more at my social level (or at least WAS my social level before Matthew was born!!!) I can't wait to get the okay from my doctor to get back to exercising... I've lost about 20lbs since Andy was born... and I intend to lose about 50 more... at least 20 before we leave on holidays this summer. I just want to not be as self concious in a bathing suit again... oh how I long for the days where I was perfectly comfortable in a bathing suit... even if I was the only one wearing one (ah the life of a lifeguard... kinda miss it).

That's another thing I've been thinking of in the last few days... getting back into lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons. Partly for the $$$, partly for the human interaction, partly for the fitness aspect. The only problem is that it's gonna take some time to get back into shape, then some $$$ to recertify everything. I kinda do miss it though. Never thought I'd be saying that already. Anyway, we'll see how that pans out.

Nighty night time for me though!

I'm sorry you had a rough day. I have two kiddos, but they are 7 years apart, so I didnt have the double diaper duty and stuff that you do! You're amazing! Hang in there!
